Description

The zone is named after the life size statue that depicts the legendary fishmonger from the famous Irish ballad Molly Malone, which has sort of become an unofficial anthem of Dublin. The statue has a big cultural value and is a popular attraction for tourists i n Dublin.

While we swithered on whether the fictitious Molly Malone is a sculpture or a monument, I am amending it to a monument on the grounds of "a person or event which has become important to a social group as a part of their remembrance of historic times or cultural heritage".
