App is unusable on non-google based phones like e/os, graphene, lineage

Status

Resolution

won't fix

Priority

Severity

minor

Turf Version

2.1.78 - public release (please upgrade)

Steps to reproduce

Just install the app and try to use it.

Description

A lot of stuff is broken due to it using a different map provider than google maps (MapLibre). I think all Google-alternative operating systems suffer from this, like GrapheneOS, Lineage but e/OS is actually an official OS for the Fairphone and you can even buy the phone with it pre-installed. Stuff that I know is broken: Zones on map are not rendered Notifications seems broken and audio playback also (taking zone...) I do see other players on the map, so rendering isn't completely broken This has been broken since I switched phone to this last fall. But I really miss Turf and would like it to work again, and I think the interest of privacy-focused OSes are gaining traction.

☒ I'm also affected by this issue.

☒ I think this is an important issue.

Version: 2.2.9 - public release

We do not have enough resources or time to keep up with anything but normal android and ios. Your OS needs to keep up with the changes in Android. Sorry.
